Mark O'Thomas - Writer/Adapter

Mark is a British playwright, screenwriter and translator. His first play was commissioned and produced by Soho Theatre Company and opened its new home in Dean Street, W1. This was followed by Salvador at the Man in the Moon, which was Critics' Choice in Time Out, Viva Maria! with Dende Collective, The Piranha Lounge and Down Dog, Edinburgh Festival 2003. He is currently script advisor to the Royal Court International Department and in association with the University of Lancaster engaged in research on the way in which text and the role of the writer relates to devised performance. This production will feature as an empirical evidence base for his research.

 

Tomo Kano - Set and Costume Designer

Tomo was born in Japan and has been living in the UK for more than 10 years. She is a recent graduated of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Technical Theatre. She has since worked widely for theatre, opera & TV providing a range of skills including design, scenic painting, prop making and wardrobe. Kwaidan is the first time she is in charge of the concept of a theatre show.

 

Mark Reid - Performer

Mark graduated from Deakin University in Australia with a degree in drama and dance. He moved to the U.K. in 1998 to pursue his interest in physical theatre and clown. He has previously appeared with the Dende Collective in their productions of The Piranha Lounge, Agreste a research and development project in 2005 and more recently Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands at the Lyric Hammersmith in London.

 

Akiko Sato - Performer

Akiko was born in Tokyo, Japan and later trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Stage credits include Nixon in China ( ENO), Piranha Lounge (LYRIC Hammersmith, The Oval House), Forestory (The Place), One Four Seven (The OVAL House), The Singer (Diorama), Sotoba Komachi, The Damask Drum (The Greenwich Playhouse), Frank Chickens - UK, European Tours.
